British Wild Flower Plants: Education & Quality

British Wild Flower Plants (BWFP) is a small family-run business founded in Norfolk in 1987 by its current owner and wildflower expert Linda Laxton. We grow all of our wildflowers on our 7-acre Nursery and are proud to have supplied commercial customers for over 30 years. We work alongside various customers, from landscapers and garden designers to schools and councils, as well as supporting housing projects and museums. Our friendly team offers full management and account support, from the moment of initial contact to beyond delivery of the plants and are reachable by phone and email.

BWFP is more than just a business, our commitment to wildflowers goes beyond commerce; it’s about sustaining and enhancing biodiversity, supporting pollinators, and reconnecting people with the wonders of our wildflowers.

Why Native Wildflowers Matter:

  1. Biodiversity boosters: Native wildflowers provide essential habitats for insects, birds, and small mammals. From the delicate Harebell to the robust Oxeye Daisy, every species plays a part in our ecosystem.
  2. Pollinator Paradise: Bees, butterflies, and hoverflies rely on wildflowers for nectar and pollen. By planting them, we create vital pit stops for these tireless workers.
  3. Soil Health and Erosion Control: Native plants have adapted to local soil conditions, promoting healthy soil structure. Their deep roots prevent erosion, stabilize slopes, and reduce runoff. This helps maintain water quality and prevents sediment from entering rivers and streams.
  4. Reduced Water Usage: Once established, native plants require less water than non-native species. Their ability to thrive in local climates reduces the necessity for irrigation.
  5. Low-Maintenance Landscaping: native wildflowers are well suited to their environment, reducing the need for fertilizers and pesticides. They thrive regardless of constant maintenance.
