Farmer Charlie is a UK-based, B Corp-certified SME offering an affordable, adaptable, plug-and-play soil sensing system connecting via Wi-Fi, 4G/5G and satellite. Remotely monitoring soil moisture and temperature, and air humidity and temperature, it collects real-time data on any type of soil. It ensures functionality even in remote areas. Our core products are soil sensors; however, our technology is very flexible, and it can be tailored to multiple needs (soil, rain gauge, water…).
Unlike existing sensor systems, Farmer Charlie’s sensors are inexpensive, easy to install and maintain, and suitable for all types of soils and land features.
Tested in a recent pilot with 50 users in the UK, Farmer Charlie’s soil sensor system consists of small probes placed in the field to measure conditions such as soil moisture and temperature; a central hub that collects and transmits data via mobile networks or satellite; and a simple app that allows users to view and use this information. Our aim is to give customers an efficient device to make informed decisions, reducing waste, save time and money, and improving their activities overall.
An indoor pebble monitoring water, temperature, and air humidity in real time for house plants is also part of our offer.
